In the navigation pane, under Storage , click Disk Management. Right-click the disk partition where Windows 7 is installed, and then click Mark Partition as Active.

W'ere going to wait a month and see if Microsoft fixes this. Yeah, we had tried it on a handful of machines without incident. Now that we've opened up the deployment set a bit, we're starting to see more fail. We have installed it on several machines without problem. But when trying to install R2 SP1 on servers we have found that the only servers that fail are hosting symantec software. Not a big deal now, but I thought I would add this to the thread.
Glad I waited! That sucks. I think an alternate method would be to launch system restore from the command prompt window you bring up in one of these steps. I haven't tried it yet though. We are also running into issues with the SP1 update. I installed it on my Latitude E when it was released last month without to much issue. Came in this morning after it had been approved on WSUS and have had about 8 systems 1 being the having issues. So my advice is tread lightly. If you don't want this release, you must modify the settings of clients updates from High to medium, like says Susan, if it's not too late ;-- or decline the win 7 sp1 into the wsus console.
The ones registered on WSUS got the SP1 update just fine, so it must just be one specific part or parts that causes the issue. Running Dell Optiplex 's, 's, 's and Latitude E's and 's all running bit pro. The bit versions installed without a problem. The problem only affects the Enterprise edition not sure of this, but trying to narrow it down. The problem has only been found on Dell and HP machines once again, not sure but trying to narrow it down. Good point with 4. All of ours are being managed by SCE, which obviously uses wsus in the background.
Amen to that! In my environment, it fails on Lenovo, Dell and HP systems. This morning I had 4 systems down with the Fatal Error C screen. Fortunately the fix from thiswoot on TechNet shown above works and I was able to recover those bricked PCs. Were it not for that, I would have been major POed. I'm also running into weird issues with systems losing their trust relationship with the domain. I've had it happen on 3 Windows 7 32bit Dell Latitude E's. Anyone else seeing any weird trust issues after the install of SP1?
Add Lenovo to your list. It fails on both x32 and x64 versions of Windows 7 Professional. I use WSUS to manage updates.
